About Van

Born in Lexington, KY attending Sayer until age 11 Van's parents moved he and the family back to their native North Carolina.  Falling in love with the close proximity of the beach, Van knew he would one day settle in a coastal environment. After graduating in 1995 from East Carolina University with a Bachelors of Science in Communications, Van became a full time resident of Wilmington, NC working in the Film and Television Industry.  After several years of traveling working on various Feature Film and Television productions Van found a new love in Real Estate and soon changed careers.  Investing and renovating properties with his wife Shannon only fueled the fire to become more involved within the industry in 2000.  This interest in people and real estate was accompanied by his 7 years within the Film and Television Industry which took Van and Shannon to Los Angeles, CA for 3 of those 7 years.  In his spare time, aside from enjoying precious time with their daughter Lilly, Van has donated much of his extra time and resources to the Life Roll’s On Foundation (a Christopher Reeves affiliate which raises money and awareness for spinal cord injury research) which he became involved with after shattering his C-7 vertebra in a surfing accident.
