The area is filled with large, fast-swimming fish. Divers have spotted cobia, kings, tarpon, and amberjacks. As a diver descends 90 feet to investigate a small ledge or wreck, he or she can expect to encounter 30 pound fish in huge schools, curious barracudas, and maybe even a 300-pound Goliath grouper! Vero Beach offers more beach diving than anywhere else in Florida. Coral reefs, tropical fish and lobster afford the beach diver with much to do and see. Just south of Vero Beach you will also find the dive communities of Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce. Use caution, however, and make sure you're not diving in rough seas. From Vero Beach to Jupiter is the best area for beach diving. A short swim of 75-150 yards will take divers and snorkelers to a rock reef that parallels the shore. In less than 15 feet of water, corals, sponges and tropical fish are easily observed. Boat dives can be made on the natural reefs further offshore. This area is famous for huge spiny lobster that have been called “bull lobster”. Take part in the annual lobster hunts for a chance to catch a lobster weighing ten pounds or more!

Fishing the waters of the Indian River Lagoon from the Sebastian Inlet to Vero Beach, south to Fort Pierce Inlet, or along the beaches of the Treasure Coast. The Indian River Lagoon is one of the most diverse estuaries in North America. It is home to over 300 species of fish. We'll be fishing for the most sought after Snook, Redfish, Sea Trout and Tarpon. But let's not discount some of the other species such as mangrove snapper, sheephead, black drum, jack crevalle, flounder, triple tail, spanish mackerel and the "lady fish", an excellent catch for the beginning fly angler. It doesn't matter which one you hook, the fight will be gratifying.

When it comes to surfing, there are few places on the east coast that compare to Sebastian Inlet. When surfers talk about Florida’s place among the worlds’ best breaks, two words come to mind: "The Inlet." Located south of Cocoa Beach, the East Coast’s own "Surf City," Sebastian Inlet has the state’s most consistent surf, and as a result, the largest crowds. There is a definitive pecking order on the north side of the jetty at a place called "First Peak." That’s where you will find the best and most competitive surfers and a descending hierarchy on the two breaks just to the north, "Second Peak" and "Third Peak." The famed Fort Pierce Inlet and jetties are just as good on the right swells and can produce some of the fastest and most hollow waves around.

Another rapidly growing event to attend is the ever so popular sport of Polo in Vero Beach. Windsor is credited to Vero's exploding Polo community and is now billed as one that is held up to that of Palm Beach. Located on the grounds of Pointe West off Route 60, the Vero Beach Polo & Saddle Club was founded by Dolf Kahle, a former Windsor polo club member. Known by locals as the “Polo Grounds,” the club offers miles of riding trails, a practice polo field, three regulation polo fields and an emerald green tournament polo field that doubles as a neighborhood park. While Windsor appears to have a lock on bringing in those nine-goal superstars and high-powered celebrities, across town another polo club is enjoying phenomenal success by taking a very different approach. The natural beauty of the Polo Grounds is undeniable, as is one other indisputable fact. At the Vero Beach Polo & Saddle Club, polo is king.
